Of course, special editions were also popular with the Golf 5. In 2006, the Tour special edition was created in collaboration with the TUI travel company. It included attractive extras such as air conditioning, cruise control, ParkPilot and a radio at a particularly affordable price. The interior featured blue stitching on the seats, centre armrest, handbrake lever and leather steering wheel. The blue graphite pearlescent paint was one of eight colours available for the Golf Tour. The 7.5 J x 18" "Cadiz" alloy wheels are taken from the Golf 7 R; the dynamic wheel trims are available as genuine Volkswagen accessories under part number 000 071 213 D.

Power comes from the reliable 77 kW (105 PS) 1.9-litre pump-jet TDI, which is very economical to run: the brochure states 5.2 l/100 km (with DSG and particulate filter).
